I have used microsoft access 97' to develop a lot of databases over recent years as I can be sure that users can open them and when I convert them to later version they will work.

I now use Access 2003. Using this version gives a little more flexability when producing databases for users who are running other access versions.

Access provides simple solutions to common problems and is far better than excel for data manipulation and reporting.
