Which MS Access version? 2007/09/19 09:02
At home I am using MS Access 97' and at work I use Access 2000 and I have tried to open the mde file at work but it says that it cannot convert an mde file.

Does anybody have any idea what I have to do to open it please ?

With MS Access 2000 you cannot open an mde database that was written in access 97' and visa versa.

The best thing to do if you are using two different versions of access is to use the mdb version of the database and keep it in its access 97' format. That way both access 97' and access 2000 will be able to use it. If you want to make any changes to the database make sure you do it access 97'. Access 2000 won't allow it anyway unless you convert the database.

My advice is to get rid of access 97'.
